The Alphabet of Great Films

by Paul Joyce

This post was inspired by someone who suggested something similar to me on Twitter back in 2011, but it wasn’t until I saw some of the great poster art by Stephen Wildish that I remembered I was going to do it. So here it is, my top movies of all time for each letter of […]

War of the Worlds (Review of 4/5)

by Paul Joyce

Not a bad film, only marked down because I feel its not a great telling of the original H.G.Wells story. If you have not heard the musical scores or seen the original film – I’d recommend this film. However if you’re a big fan of the original works, try approaching this film as just another alien invasion film.

District 9 (Film review of 4/5)

by Paul Joyce

Great alien film, uniquely directed. Surpreme acting by Sharlto Copley as his body becomes the number one asset to the worlds biggest arms dealer. Its definitely worth a watch, whether you’re into aliens/sci-fi or not, although some of the scenes are probably not for the faint hearted as they do contain quite a bit of gore and nastyness.

Kick Ass (Film review of 4/5)

by Paul Joyce

Funny and nerdy comic hero story that really impressed me. Johnson and Moretz play their parts brilliantly, while Cage performs well he doesnt steal the limelight for the little guys. Definitely worth a watch.

Film: Battle Los Angeles (Reviewed at 4/5)

by Paul Joyce

I went and saw Battle Los Angeles at the cinema and well, it definitely warrants a large screen and loud sound system! A friend of mine perfectly described this film as the result of blending Independence Day and Black Hawk Down together into one 2 hour action film. Battle Los Angeles starts off midway through […]
