2012: To-Do list

by Paul Joyce

About this time of year, not¬†unsurprisingly, everyone seems to be making New Years resolutions, which I’ve always thought is a rather strange tradition. They are always decisions to be better, do more (or less) of something, start something new etc etc. Why don’t people just start doing these things when they think of them. If […]

Film: Inception

by Paul Joyce

This is quite possibly one of the best films ever made. Christopher Nolan has produced an epic, mind bending, surreal film that will make you want to watch it again as soon as the credits roll. Unable to return to America to see his kids, Cobb (DiCaprio) must perform one last job to clear his name from the alleged murder of his wife.

Board game review: Power Grid

by Paul Joyce

Power Grid is up there with the best, it's a great board game. If you're a fan of other strategic resource management games, this should be on your list.

War of the Worlds (Review of 4/5)

by Paul Joyce

Not a bad film, only marked down because I feel its not a great telling of the original H.G.Wells story. If you have not heard the musical scores or seen the original film – I’d recommend this film. However if you’re a big fan of the original works, try approaching this film as just another alien invasion film.

Film: Sahara

by Paul Joyce

An okay film but the story seems to be a random blend of several other major (and better) films. Interaction between McConaughey, Wilson and Zahn saves the whole film though. Worth a watch if you’re bored but wouldn’t buy it though.
